Poem – “Fitting Out”

I don’t fit in
I don’t fit in
I don’t fit in
I’m not supposed to

I don’t fit in
I don’t fit in
I don’t fit in
I’m not supposed to

If I fit in to the prisons
Of your rules
I’d be looking at me
Thinking I’m the biggest fool

If I fit in to the way
We share our souls
I’d find marshmellows stuffed
Where I’ve now got seeing holes

If I fit in to the interest
Of most tongues
I wouldn’t feel so empty
And invisible amongst

If I fit in
I wouldn’t wriggle in my skin
But I only wriggle
To let my soul come in

If I fit in
I wouldn’t be Uraniun
I wouldn’t look perplexed
In all situations

If I fit in
Definition would be gone
I’d be lost in the world
I’d be lost like everyone

If I fit in
I’d be drunk on the 3D
I’d be drowning in all drama
particularly in me

If I fit in
I’d have no vision from afar
An inner space so wide
Inhabiting another star

If I fit in
I’d not know of fitting out
Maybe paradox
I’d know nothing about

If I fit in
I’d be sleeping in my dream
But I’m wide awake
Flicking through the reams

If I fit in
Who would I be on earth?
Who would I be inside?
If I fit into your worth?

If I fit in
I might lose the discomfort
Of not fitting in
Which fits me quite a lot

If I fit in
to the patterns that exist
There’d be no breaking free
There’d be no evolving twists

If I fit in
Then I’d spend less time alone
Which is where I mostly
Want to feel at home

If I fit in
Then the shining in my eye
May become just dust
As that’s the portal out of lies

If I fit in
I’d be heavy with the world
Cause I’d be submerged
In all the stories that she’s held

If I fit in
I would not be standing free
I’d be scribbled in the patterns
Encouraged from history

If I fit in
I would not experience
Parallel universes
Multidimensional sense

If I fit in
I’d never ask myself again
What it means to not
Become fully open

If I fit in
Where would I fit and how?
Cause there is no ‘fitting’
IN the (n)ever moving NOW

I don’t fit in
I don’t fit in
I don’t fit in
I’m not supposed to

I don’t fit in
I don’t fit in
I don’t fit in
I’m not supposed to

I was built to fit out
As a way of fitting in
It’s a paradox you see
By losing the fit

I win.
